Frommers very highly recommends this "stately inn" which has been taken over by Sandals lately and is rated as their "most upmarket property in Jamaica". The hotel is located 2 kms from the centre of Ochos Rios. Driving up the "sweeping driveway" towards the "colonnaded portico" reminded the author so much of the "antebellum South" that he felt like being transported into a scene of "Gone with the wind". The hotel has undergone a "complete renovation" and offers a "full-service European spa" now.
