Just needs a couple of coats of magnolia
Charles Rennie Mackintosh is a name so deeply and intrinsically linked with Scottish art and architecture that its not surprising to find he was only ever involved in the design of one building south of the border. Description:	78 Derngate is the only building outside Scotland designed by the famous Scottish architect-artist-designer Charles Rennie Mackintosh. The building itself is Georgian in age and was given to businessman Wenman Joseph Bassett-Loake by his father as a wedding present in 1916. Bassett-Loake engaged the services of Rennie Mackintosh to design and remodel his house in a very distinctive style. The house was purchased by fans of Rennie Mackintosh in the 1990s and over £1.4 million has been spent to convert this modest town house into an authentic reconstruction of its former glory. The house is open for tours everyday from 10am to 5 pm (except on Tuesdays when it's only open from 1pm to 5pm. Entrance fees are £5.50 for adults and £4.50 for concession.
