Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet Centre - Ellesmere Port, United Kingdom
The Pits of the Earth (20.12.2007 17:39)
The main attraction of Cheshire Oaks for local shoppers is that it is supposed to offer cheaper prices for designer labels, specifically clothing, than you would find in most city centre locations for example. This is probably true, but given the fact that most designer labelled clothing is made in sweatshops by poorly paid east Asian workers and their children, this comes as no surprise and [more...] -
The Trafford Centre - Trafford Park, United Kingdom
The Trafford Experience (20.12.2007 16:27)
The Trafford Centre is probably the most vibrant shopping locations in Manchester. It is well located and accessible from junctions 9 & 10 on the M60 near Manchester. The shopping centre is also easily accessible by public transport. A shuttle bus runs frequently and will take you from the metro link station at Stretford. A number of buses also run to and from the centre. Parking shouldn't be a [more...] -

It was designed by Harvey Lonsdale Elmes after he won an architectural competition for the building. It has been described as one of the finest examples of [more...] -

Cathedral of Tranquility (15.08.2006 21:40)
The Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King is a Roman Catholic Cathedral also known by the locals as Paddys Wigwam. It is one of Liverpools most fascinating landmarks and more or less faces Liverpools other Cathedral at the opposite end of Hope Street. The Cathedral was designed by Sir Frederick Gibberd after a competition was held inviting 300 entries from all over the world. Construction [more...] -
Liverpool Anglican Cathedral - Liverpool, United Kingdom
Magnificent Neo-Gothic Cathedral (08.08.2006 19:37)
Architecture John Betjeman once described Liverpool Anglican Cathedral as 'one of the great buildings of the world' and it is great. It is the largest cathedral in Britain and 5th largest in the world. The sandstone neo-gothic structure is a formidable sight on the Liverpool skyline. The cathedral possesses the highest gothic arches and the bells in the tower have the highest and heaviest peal [more...]
