    Arran is a paradise for walkers and the only difficulty is choosing which walk to go on. We hadn't really planned this walk very well, just decided to do it as we were passing through Whitting Bay.     Although Arran has a tradition of whisky making, this new distillery is the first example of legally produced whisky on the island. It is a newcomer on the whisky scene, as it only opened in 1995. As such, the visit is perhaps not as quaint or picturesque as it might be at other distilleries.     It seems to me that this collection of stone circles is a well-guarded secret. They only warrant 2 and a half lines and no photograph on the 'Historic Scotland' site (they are in charge of the stones), are very badly sign-posted and the car-park reserved for visitor use is minute.
