In the author's opinion, the gardens have a "unique flora" and are "among the most beautiful" botanical gardens in the world. You will find "magnificent oaks" and "indigenous plants". There is also a fragrance garden and a sculpture garden. The "best" time to see the gardens are "between mid-August and mid-October", the author states. The Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden shelters 8,000 plant species including a "giant baobab tree". Considered by Frommers to be "without a doubt" one of the world's "most beautiful gardens", it is set next to the Table Mountain nature reserve. Several options are proposed to discover the "themed walks". Either one can opt for an "audio guide", or else a guided tour, or even take a "golf cart tour". The park has two restaurant options, and some "summer sunset concerts" with some of the best African acts. Frommers rate the botanical gardens as exceptional.
