Named after the famous John Lennon song, this 2.5 acre area of Central Park was dedicated in 1981 by the mayor of New York. Near the west entrance of Strawberry Fields is the black and white mosaic copied from a Pompeii original, with the single word 'Imagine' added in its center. Here visitors come to remember John Lennon and sometimes leave a memento, a flower, a poem or such like. The garden is recognised as a garden of peace by 121 countries, the names of which can be found on a plaque in the garden.
