Hammamet Medina

The Medina of Hammamet is located beside the waters edge. Aimed mainly at tourist trade, it features Islamic architecture. The Medina is not large and consists of white washed buildings which all look the same. Doors have knockers in the form of a hand; these are meant to ward off bad luck. There are shops in every street selling handmade souvenirs and jewellery, leather goods, embroidery and carpets. It will take approximately an hour to have a look around.
