JP Rossouw describes Café 1999 with its "Bohemian interior" as being a local "institution" with a "great reputation" although neither the "looks or location" lived up to his expectations and it was also "very noisy". Nevertheless he found it to be "a fun and funky spot" where one could have "hearty meals" and describes the waiters as being "sparkling".
