[Mikesh, 02/12/2011] They have both an Ac and non ac section. With some nice food(love the starters) they serve alcohol and sheesha. The sheesha prices are on the higher side. They have a DJ who itsnt the best, and they play a lot of Hindi music. Due to this, there are people dancng on the table or on their place. The service is ok, sometimes it takes 30 minutes+ to get the starters and sheesha. If you tip the waiter your service just becomes really really good.
[Mikesh, 02/12/2011] This is my favorite place in Mumbai fo have few drinks and just chill. The place is small with a well thought of ambiance. It is one of the only places in Mumbai with such a vast collection of beers(30 I think). They have a lot of starters on the menu and you can request them for more. Normally it comfortable to find a place to sit during the week, fri and sat nights a bit hard, but not impossible.
[Mikesh, 14/11/2011] A beautiful place to walk around. Its nice but not as good as most of the worlds promenade. The place is every happening, where you can find people walking, cycling from as early as 10am and people just sitting near the water front late as night (2-3 am). Most of the times the police tries to get rid of the crowd at night. Also some of the crowd that comes here is of the lower category. If looking at the place from a building its looks wonderful. It is even called the queens necklace when seen from one end, due to the lights and the curve of the road. One side of it ends at chopatty beach an

A good way to see it is to go here and take one of the trains in non peak hours(afternoons) to one of the nearby station whihc is also a great experience.
[Mikesh, 03/11/2011] Good to see for the architecture, but not all maintained. This was built as a gate for the Queen arriving in India during British rules. It is just opposite the iconic Taj Mahal hotel. The Gate way is now mainly used for people to board boats to the Caves and places around Mumbai. It is easier to see it if some ones decides to go to the Elephanta or Ajanta / Ellora Caves or to Alibagh. The place is not all all maintained and not worth going out of you your way to see it. There are other buildings which are of the olden times that have similar architecture, which are better.
[Mikesh, 02/11/2011] They have all the brands under one roof and you can find ever needed. They had a ton of eating places. One can spend the entire day here. The price range of stores wary from medium expensive to very expensive. They also have a movie theater PVR. A lot of people come here and spend the entire day here. Parking here can be a pain during rush hour and can take a lot of time. Also it is close to impossible to get cabs in the evening as it is in an office area.
[Mikesh, 20/04/2011] Not a recommended place for tourists. It is visited by the poorer locals. The beach is very dirty with a lot of trash thrown on it. There a lot of cheap food stalls for the people visiting the beach. The water used by them is not the best so I wont eat it. This isnt one of the beach you can sunbath on. Infact nowhere in Mumbai can you just go to a beach and get a tan. If you try to do that people will stare at you till the point you will feel uncomfortable and leave. This beach is the place to be during Ganpati Virsarjan where they put the idol in the water.
[nashm55, 28/01/2011] Very Comfortable, Fast check in and out. Fantastic Breakfast. Was there on business so didn't get much of a chance to enjoy any other hotel facilities. Room very comfortable. Back in Mumbai in 2 weeks and staying there again.
[koshkha, 29/06/2010] They Hyatt Regency Mumbai is absolutely gorgeous but not the most practical of places to stay unless you want to be out by the airport. If escaping from the noise and chaos of the city is what you want, then this is a great choice but it could easily take you an hour or an hour and a half to get into the city depending on the travel.
The lobby has a very high 'wow' factor and the check in desk has so much marble that you could practically build a house for the cost of the decorative stone alone. Those kind of things are much cheaper in India but even so I got a serious bout of stone-envy. T

[koshkha, 16/08/2008] Rumour has it that the Taj Mahal hotel was built backwards - that someone had the architect's plans the wrong way round and that's why all the rooms look out over the gardens and not the sea. Further fables tell that when the architect returned to view his masterpiece, he was so distressed that he killed himself. The Taj, it's fair to say, makes a big impression!
The first time I went to Mumbai, I stayed out near the airport in the Leela (very nice) and a Dutch colleague dragged me along to the Taj Mahal for afternoon tea as a 'must do' experience. We sat in the old-fashioned restaurant, si

[koshkha, 16/08/2008] The Leela Kempinski could so easily be 'just another airport hotel' but it's not. Instead, the hotel offers such a pleasant experience that it's worth visiting even if you don't need to be near the airport. I've stayed there twice on business trips to Mumbai and loved it both times although I must admit it's a few years ago now since I was there (probably about 7 years) and looking at their website, I suspect it may have been upgraded since my last visit as the rooms look even nicer now.
Arriving at Mumbai airport in the early hours of the morning it was a relief to see a smartly dressed ho

[Vodkaboy, 06/02/2007] The feel of the room was that someone had made a very big effort to make it look different from the bog standard hotel room.
The hallway was marbled, opening up into the main room with a wooden floor. The room was offset at an angle from the corridor.
The bed was real king sized, with more pillows than I could use in a pillow fight! it was also very comfortable. The desk was of glass, a bit small but at least the power points and internet access points were conveniently located. There was a flat screen TV attached to the wall opposite the bed. On a shelf was a kettle, along with tea a

The search for a good hotel is hard enough when it takes place in the west, but when travelling further afield to Asia it can be a very tough decision to make. Your holiday home can make or break a good holiday.
That is why we consider ourselves very fortunate to have found the Hotel Heritage, in Mumbai. When our trip was planned and questioning friends who had stayed in Mumbai over the years for ideas, one name kept cropping up - the Hotel Heritage! We duly arranged bookings and have never regretted our decision once!
The hotel advertises itself as one of the leading 3-S
