| Description: | Located next to the M3 motorway on the slopes of Devil's Peak, this is the most well-known and best preserved of the remaining three Dutch Mills in South Africa. The mill is named for its 1823 owner, Sybrand Jacobus Mostert and dates from 1796. The farm "Welgelegen" on which it was built became the property of Cecil John Rhodes in 1891. Mostert's Mill was renovated and made fully functional in 1995 (almost 200 years after it was first built) and is now open to visitors on most Saturdays. |
