Impressive And Very Well-Preserved

Date published: Sep 2003
Author: Charles Tait
Travel guide extract
[aurelia_aurita, 26.04.2007] Tait describes Mousa Broch as a "famous and very well-preserved eponymous broch" that was "already at least 1,000 years old in Viking times". He calls it an "impressive, yet stark structure" which is "built from local sandstone to a very high standard, which no doubt has ensured its survival". Furthermore, Tait describes Mousa as a "very good place to observe seals" as a "large colony of Common Seals" is found at the south end, in Mousa sound, Porpoises "are frequently seen".
