Article
[Hoernchen123, 23.08.2006] This hotel is "one of the tallest" in Moscow and was opened "only a few months" ago. It is "partly new-build" but has "teething problems" with air conditioning, heating and service. During the authors stay it was "too hot". The "vast majority" of the staff is Russian and the "service training is an ongoing challenge for five-star hotels in Russia". The lobby is "suitably dramatic", it is three storeys high and topped by a curved glass ceiling. The "pale green" marble floors were "not properly sealed" and the author felt it looked "a little scruffy" from the footfall. The hotel is located between the Moscow River and Obvodny Channel and the Kremlin is "about a half-hour walk away". It is "conveniently located" for the metro system. The Paveletsky station is also "only a few minutes away" and connects you to Domodedovo airport. All of the 235 rooms have "good views over surrounding Moscow areas" and the upper ones even have views of the "entire" city. All rooms are "different" due to the circular design of the hotel. The bathrooms are "open" and there is "plenty of storage in bathrooms and rooms". A "large freestanding" tub is the bathrooms centerpiece. Standard rooms also feature a "good" desk equipped with broadband internet and an "ergonomic" work chair. There is also the Amrita Spa and Health Club which has a swimming pool and workout area, the facilities including "four private treatment rooms, a spa bath, solarium, sauna and relaxation room". The restaurant and bar Concerto provides Italian cuisine and "fine dining". The hotels main restaurant is the Café Suisse, which offers all-day dining of Swiss, International and Russian favorites. There is also a lobby bar, but as "a must" the author suggests the City Space Bar and Lounge on the 34th floor because of its "fabulous panoramic" views of Moscow. There is also a DJ and therefore "loud music". The prices for wines are "breathtaking," as it is "everywhere else in the city".
