Hot List 2005 Hotel
Article in Conde Nast Traveller about Bulgari Milan from Jan 2005Overall rating:
90 out of 100
|
The author notes how Milan's "first designer hotel" - the Bulgari, "transformed the hotel scene for sophisticated leisure travelers" in Milan. It is situated "just five minutes" from La Scala. The Duomo and the fashion quarter of the city are also "a short stroll away", making this an "unbeatable" location. The hotel's garden is described in summer as a "tranquil miniature park" that acts as a "magnet for Milan's beautiful people". The hotel has a "fabulously fashionable bar" and a "theatrical restaurant" that offers a "modern Italian menu". The Bulgari also offers "a full-service spa" with "an exquisite lap pool accessed by four submerged gold-mosaic steps". Although the author says the bedrooms "may not be the largest in town", there is still to be found "everything you'd expect in terms of gadgets and style". The interior décor of the bedrooms is described as a "contemporary blend of beige, brown and black offset by light-oak floors". There are "mosaic-tiled, walk-in showers and deep, travertine-marble baths". The author goes on to note how a "real sense of luxury" is evoked by "little details" such as "Tivoli radios" and "a choice of incense". The hotel was on the Condé Nast Traveller hot list of 2005.
