This official Fodor's review of this hotel in the Spring Street area of the town suggests that the hotel is a blend of "Victorian Era" with "modern comforts" and "plush rooms with rosewood furnishings". They do highlight that the marble bathrooms are quite small as are the standard rooms but space is available in the Victorian suites or an executive two room suite.
The hotel is well situated within Melbourne opposite the State Houses of Parliament and close to theaters", shops and parks.
Finally the hotel's adjoining restaurant - 111 Spring Street Restaurant - serves "Continental-style dishes in a formal setting."
