The author, Caroline Major describes how this hotel is situated in a vibrant part of Melbourne called South Yarra. It is in a tree-lined street and that she finds it to be a "chic, comfortable and home-style 5 hotel" with character. She states that there are 40 suites, each with kitchen, mini-lounge, fireplace, air-conditioning, under-floor heating and that there is also an "extensive mini-bar". She does however write that the 24 hr room service is sadly lacking in "personality and efficiency" while the hotel bar is "big" on sparkling wines and champagnes. There is also a newly opened spa available.
