General
Matangi features very unique accommodation in a very relaxing and peaceful atmosphere. It offers lots of activities including snorkelling, scuba diving, sailing, kayaking, wind surfing, water-skiing, light tackle sport fishing, hiking, private beach excursions and village tours. Matangi is protected within a large reef system which makes kayaking around the island easy. There are several dive sites within a 20 mile radius of Matangi Island, including Great White Wall at the Somo strait and Noel's wall at Motui Levu. MP1108

Matangi is a private island resort, located near Taveuni Island, in the north-east of Viti Levu. The domestic flight from Nadi to Taveuni Island is about 90 minutes. From Taveuni airport the resort coordinates further transfers. It is a 20 minute scenic mini-bus ride to the boat landing and from there an other 20 minutes by water taxi.

All 'Island Bures' are built from natural local materials with bamboo and coconut palm thatch, spacious living areas, king size bed, day bed, ceiling fans, mini bar, ensuite bathroom facilities and private verandah. There is no TV, telephone and air-conditioning in the bures to retain an uncluttered atmosphere free of modern distractions. Telephone and email services are available from the office.
