Manchester
[15/02/2010] I’ve lived in Manchester all my life and have seen it change in many ways over the years - probably one of the much needed changes in more recent years was the refurbishment of the Piccadilly gardens area. I say refurbishment but, really it is more like a ‘makeover’!
Where are Piccadilly gardens?
It is located in Manchester city centre - slap bang next to the main bus stop area and within a few minutes walk of Piccadilly train station. The gardens are right across from Market street which is one of the main shopping streets in the city centre which leads to the Arndale and also to the fa

[04/02/2008] The MEN is is in the centre of Manchester and is host to hundreds of different events each year. There is nearly always something on at the venue and this place can hold a staggering 21,000 people!
The venue is mainly popular for concerts such as bands etc but there will be comedy acts such as Peter Kay along with other various shows such as Cirque Du Soleil and exhibitions too.
Tickets for any events that are on here can normally be booked through a ticket supplier, more often than not, Ticketmaster or you can purchase directly from the venue itself either at the box office or over the

[11/01/2008] The exchange bar and grill is a second American themed restaurant within the Trafford centre Orient food court. It is probably one of the larger venues and is a combined restaurant and bar.
It is always busy due to the fact that it has an extensive menu made of up of great starters such as cheese and bacon potato skins, filling mains such as chilli and rice and yummy deserts such as brownie sundaes!
The price are decent too which an average main at around £7-9 per person and drinks are not too expensive. They have a lot to choose from and have separate cocktail, shots and wine menus.

[11/01/2008] This restaurant ahas lovely food but I find that it is quite expensive - it didn't used to be but in recent years the prices have gone up. In my opinion the food is nice here but not that nice I can justify spending as much on a meal here as what it is! An average cost is nearly £20 for a steak - yes it's not the most expensive you'll ever find but it's got a lot of competition in the close vicinity!!
The restaurant is on the upper level of the Orient in the Trafford centre and if you are dining here you can sit inside or outside which is quite nice as directly facing the restaurant is the

[11/01/2008] Buffet city is one of the best Chinese 'all you can eat' buffet restaurants to go to in Manchester city centre if you are looking for somewhere that is not too expensive and has something for everyone.
It is located on Portland street but not right on top of Chinatown as it is further along. It is not hard to find as the entrance is quite large and it has big red banners around it advertising it's brilliant prices which star at a small £5.50! This is normally if you eat at lunchtime but even at the highest cost of £8.50 it's still good value!
They have lots of tables so even when it's bu

[11/01/2008] I have eaten quite a lot at the Beijing restaurant in Manchester which is just on the outskirts of Chinatown. It is located on the main road on Portland street where all the other main restaurants are just behind the main road in the square. Because of it's location it doesn't seem to get as busy as some of the others and therefore it is very easy to get a table.
The restaurant is entered by going down quite a steep flight of stairs which take you into the small entrance are. The seating area is to your left as you go in and there is only about 10 table altogether. They are a couple of big

[11/01/2008] The hard rock cafe in Manchester is nearly always heaving - it is a good idea to either make a reservation or turn up early to get a table - if you have to wait they do have a rather nice bar area but htis can get pretty crowded!
It is located inside of the Printworks building so one of the main reasons for how busy it gets is probably due to the fact that there is a huge IMAX cinema right next to it!!
The staff:
The staff are excellent in here - as they are in every hard rock cafe I've been to where they are super smiley and very fast in everything they do from walking you to the tabl

[11/01/2008] It's been a while since I last visited the Dexters restaurant in the Trafford Centre but every time I have it has always been nice. They serve loads of American dishes such a s big burgers and massive steaks and they have a huge menu to choose from.
The food is always really filling and the very first time myself and my fiance had ever been to this place we made the mistake of ordering a starter each and then the mains not realising how big the portions were! We were stuffed just after the starters!! The chiili is really nice in here and the steaks are always cooked to perfection - yum yum!

[11/01/2008] Casa Tapas is one of my favourite restaurants in the whole of Manchester. There are plenty of reasons why but the main two is that food is gorgeous and the atmosphere in here is exactly how I love.
It is right on the main road in Didsbury and is pretty small - it does have two floors but the restaurant as a whole is quite narrow so it gives it that intimate feel and the whole place is decorated with dark wood such as the floor and the tables and there are candles on every table and even on the walls!
Evrytime I have been here it has been busy so I have always made a reservation - i'm not

[23/12/2007] Amp bar is located on school road in Sale, due to its location on the main shopping street it is really easy to find for both locals and visitors to the area. They have a wide range of drinks with draught beers, spirits and shots. When you first go in (depending on what time) it looks quite small, but later on they open the other doors to the dance floor. The type of music they have is mainly indie but they do play cheesy pop and the DJ will play any requests. They also advertise different D.J's and promotional nights through out the months ahead.
The place does get really busy in the later
