I have eaten quite a lot at the Beijing restaurant in Manchester which is just on the outskirts of Chinatown. It is located on the main road on Portland street where all the other main restaurants are just behind the main road in the square. Because of it's location it doesn't seem to get as busy as some of the others and therefore it is very easy to get a table.
The restaurant is entered by going down quite a steep flight of stairs which take you into the small entrance are. The seating area is to your left as you go in and there is only about 10 table altogether. They are a couple of big table that can fit up to 8 on but all the others are small and can only fit 4 people on so as you can see it is quite and intimate venue.
The staff are good but i suppose it's not difficult to keep track of everything when it's this small! They come and get your drink order pretty much as soon as you sit down in fact they always take it as you're pretty much getting seated!!
The food is good with lots and lots to choose from and prices aren't bad either - for a couple expect to pay around £15-20 including drinks. The beef curry here is really nice as is the chicken and sweetcorn soup.
Overall a nice little venue and it's nice if there is a group as it can feel like you have the place to yourselves!
