Manchester, United Kingdom90%
The Ibis Manchester City Centre Hotel is part of the Ibis chain. The Ibis is part of the French Accor. Worldwide there are 750 hotels. The Ibis hotel is characterized by cheap, simple but quality for money and offers more than just another cheap hotel. They have extensive breakfast and more personal service. I have now stayed a number of times and every time it was especially the location of the Ibis that did it for me. An Ibis is often in the center or near an airport.
The Ibis Manchester
Ibis Manchester City Centre is located on Portland Street in central Manchester. It is a fairly large hotel with 127 rooms. On the ground floor you have a 2 person reception desk. They speak English, but the person who helped us also spoke Spanish. What you often find an Ibis hotel is that there are people of different nationalities. They must speak the language of the country where they work but also speak the language where they come from. On the ground floor you also have a nice bar where you can sit. They are licensed and have therefore had any drink you want. They also have snack food, 24 hours a day. You also have a computer corner, where you can use the Internet for a fee. Downstairs is the breakfast is served in the form of a buffet. To go to your room you have the option of two elevators that take you to one of the floors will.
The location
Ibis Manchester City Centre is located, as the name implies, in central Manchester and is close to Piccadilly railway station. If you fly to Manchester, you can get every 5 minutes a train to Piccadilly train station. The train ride takes about 10 minutes and then you have to complete a 5 to 10 minutes’ walk from the hotel. Very quick and easy!
Hotel room
I once stayed in this hotel in standard room, and I think this is the only type of room they have. The room can accommodate 2 people with the opportunity for a child. The room is neatly arranged. Upon entering you have on the left a door to the shower / toilet. This is a little bit on the small side but it’s nicely done with a large mirror and complimentary soap and small bath items. When you walk further in the room you have on the right the TV stand. Here you will also find some tea and coffee with kettle. Opposite you have the double bed (two beds pushed together). Next to the bed have two small nightstands and also two small lamps. The bed is reasonably comfortable with 2 small cushions, which are not very good. But you can ask at reception for more pillows. You have the option to open the window, but it opens only a little bit. Furthermore the room has air-conditioning and a telephone.

Breakfast
We haven’t had any breakfast but it looked good. Especially the times are very good, from 4 to 12 breakfast is served! Breakfast differs with what time you come:
4u.-6.30u.: Coffee or tea, juice, bread, pastries and / or biscuits.
6.30u. - 10am.: Buffet with fresh produce where you can eat all you want.
10u.-12.: Coffee or tea, juice, bread, pastries and / or biscuits.
Internet / Computer
On the ground floor there is a computer with internet, which everyone is allowed to use. Also the hotel has wireless Internet which you can use against a cost but I don’t know the prices.
Children
If you have children, they can stay for free if a child is younger than 12 years and must reside in the same room as the parent (s). You also get 50% discount on breakfast!
Payments
You can pay with cash at this hotel but also with credit cards. All credit cards like Visa, Mastercard and American Express are accepted.
Cancellation
What I find useful is that on the day of arrival until 19.00 it’s still free to cancel.

Value
To get an idea of the price. I have paid £61 per night. So for two nights it was 122 pounds for two people.
Conclusion
The hotel is perfect if you're looking for a nice simple hotel in the heart of Manchester. It's a nice hotel to stay if you want to go into the city or for going out. Because of the extra service and everything just feels a bit better than the other cheaper hotels. The rooms are very neat and have all the basics and have free coffee and tea. It’s just that little bit extra that makes it a good cheap hotel.
