The Midland Manchester is one of the oldest established hotels in Manchester city centre. It opened in 1903 and was built by the Midland railway Company to serve the now disused Midland Central railway station. It is now a part of the Qhotels chain.

The Lowry is a member of the Rocco Forte Collection of hotels and is Manchester's first hotel to hold the accolade of being a member of the "Leading Hotels of the World" and is the only five-star in the city. It's an ultra-modern luxury hotel which opened in 2001 and occupies a river-side plot in the Chapel Wharf development close to the river Irwell.
