[01/03/2008] Mayaafushi Island After landing at the airport, we were taken by air-conditioned bus to the other side of the island to catch the seaplane; we had a 40 min wait, which gave us time for a cool drink. The seaplane transfer was about 40mins, and what fantastic aerial views of the islands and reefs. We landed by the jetty, where the porters carried our bags to the reception. We filled in the registration cards while sipping a cool cocktail. Then off to our room to unpack. We had a 'beach room' single story rooms all in blocks of 4, just feet away from the beach. The rooms are basic, but cle [more]

[18/01/2008] Embudu Village - Maldives The Maldives are off the lower west tip of Indian in the middle of the Indian Ocean. They are made up of several beautiful Atolls. Each Atoll has many islands and coral reefs, which look stunning from the air. Embudu Village is in the South Male Atoll. The Size of the Island is small only 280m x 240m Flying time from the UK is average 10.5 hours. This time we flew with Thomsonfly (see my other review for details) Transfer from the Airport is 45mins by slow boat or 20mins by fast speed boat. This Island is rated 2+, But is worthy of at least a 3+ we b [more]

The first time I went the runway was not big enough to take jumbo jets. However this has now expended with the land reclaim project over the years. PASSPORT CONTROL We were the only flight to arrive, so it was ve [more]

[18/01/2008] What a Fantastic little Island, Fihalhohi Island Resort is in the South Male Atoll in the Maldives. After a 10 and a half hour flight from Gatwick we landed at Male International Airport, we were escorted to the Speed boat. The transfer was only 40 minutes with views of other islands on the way. As we approached the island we knew this was the Paradise we expected. Tall palm trees, white sand beaches, bright blue skies and turquoise sea. We walked down the small wooden jetty to the reception while the boat crew carried our cases. We were given a refreshing fruit drink with cool towels then [more]
