Mayaafushi Island After landing at the airport, we were taken by air-conditioned bus to the other side of the island to catch the seaplane; we had a 40 min wait, which gave us time for a cool drink. Embudu Village - Maldives The Maldives are off the lower west tip of Indian in the middle of the Indian Ocean. They are made up of several beautiful Atolls. Each Atoll has many islands and coral reefs, which look stunning from the air. Embudu Village is in the South Male Atoll. It maybe a long review, but maybe helpful to those who are contemplating staying on this island. FLIGHT Our direct flight was 10.5 hours from Manchester with Monarch this time. What a Fantastic little Island, Fihalhohi Island Resort is in the South Male Atoll in the Maldives. After a 10 and a half hour flight from Gatwick we landed at Male International Airport, we were escorted to the Speed boat. The transfer was only 40 minutes with views of other islands on the way.
