[21/01/2010] A central location near the beach and resort centre. Best for couples over 35 who like a quiet holiday. Not recommended for families, The rooms are a good size with air conditioning and mini fridge but no tea / coffee making facilities.Rooms are cleaned most days. 2 lifts so be prepared to wait or walk down if you choose or are given a room on a higher floor. Buffet breakfast very good. Entertainment pretty pathetic. Good swimming poll. Staff formal and polite. Guests ten to be mainly couples over 40 from various countries. In our opinion hotel and resort are not ideal for families.
[09/12/2009] The Bulls Head in Clandon is located near to the National Trust house and gardens in the area. The pub is small but it really very quaint with 3 different section. It concentrates more of the food element rather than the pub.The seating is quite basic and depending on where you are sitting you can feel a draft especially when the door is opened. However the food is excellent both in quality and value. Also generous portions. The pub specialises in home made pies which we can thoroughly recommend. there is the standard menu and the specials board. A small car park at the side and Clandon statio

[29/09/2009] The Hotel George is a small and friendly family run hotel in the resort of Golden Beach on the island of Thassos. The rooms are basic and simply furnished but clean.A better than average bathroom for Greece. The beach is 7 walk away and the nearest taverna is 4 minutes. The hotel has a lovely bar where most of the guests meet up after returning from their evening meal. No swimming pool like most properties in this resort. If you want a traditional Greek holiday is basic accommodation, then this is recommended for couples who like a relaxing holiday.
[14/08/2009] The Park Tavern in New Road Kingston upon Thames from the exterior looks like a quaint old fashioned English pub. However once we entered we felt most unwelcome and uncomfortable The regulars glared at us as the service was surly. We heard this pub specialised in serving a good range of real ales which is true, but when we were charged over £3.50 a pint we thought this was exorbitant. Only London's West End charges more. It would have not been so bad if the surroundings were plush but it was quite the opposite. Hard wooden bench seats with a few more comfortable but well used chairs. The pub

The pub is a mixture of comfortable seating in the main part of the inn and hard wooden benches to left which was probably originally the public bar. The inn specialises in a good choice of well maintained real ales and the bar staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. It is a mobile free zone and if your phone is not switched off and it rings you are immediately asked to take the call outside in the street. this is a wonderful way of keeping peace and quiet. no televi

[07/08/2009] The New Inn on Ham Common is a really traditional English Inn set in a nice location facing the common where cricket is played at the weekends in the summer. It is situated mid way between Richmond and Kingston and is on the 65 bus route. The pub is comfortable serving a good range of beers and wines. The food menu is not vast but that is because the food is freshly cooked and is of a good standard although it does tend to be a mite pricey for a pub. you order your food at the bar and is is brought to your table. Food is served lunchtime and evenings up to 9.30 except Mondays when 6.30 is the

[07/08/2009] The Esplanade Hotel might have been a grand building some decades ago but it is falling into a state of disrepair. The paint is faded and in our room wallpaper had started peeling off the walls. The room was small and the bathroom hardly the size of a broom cupboard. there was a maze of corridors and lifts was old and struggled to hold more than 2 people. The dining room was very 1970's and the meals were buffet style. The food in fact was quite reasonable but the portions were mean disguised by using small plates. At least it was in a seafront central location and the staff in general were fr

It is situated in a rural location about a 10 minute walk to the beach and 15 minutes to the town square where the majority of tavernas are located The hotel has about 50 rooms with air conditioning. The furnishing are simple but in good condition. The balcony was large and by Greek standards the bathroom was excellent. The staff were friendly and could not be more helpful. Buffet breakfast on the terrace was a delight. although there was a limited choice mainly

[01/07/2009] The Perla Hotel is one to give a miss unless you are possibly under 30'. The hotel is situation up a hill 20 minutes walk back from the beach as is close to the area where the discos and bars are located, Our room faced the rear and we did suffer an element of traffic noise from the main road running behind. The rooms were nice but the restaurant was chaotic often not replenishing empty to dishes and the food looked and tasted pretty grotty.. To car it all the hotel had a number of large school parties staying and a German young and lively tour company used to hotel. consequence could be noisy

The beach is 10 minutes walk in the other direction. The rooms are a good size basically but nicely decorated and furnished with all the facilities one requires. air conditioning, fridge, micro wave, kettle, television etc.The staff are helpful and friendly. good value and highly recommended.
