[martanikolova, 18/01/2012] I don't think I have seen a better railway station ever. Atocha is a wonderfully organised and well-maintained station. There are plants and palms inside, you can feel the nature around even though you are actually in a train station. There are lots of places where you sit and have a cup of coffee while waiting or you can simply stroll around, which is also great considering the atmosphere around. Everything is perfectly organised. The train station is well connected to the public transport and you can reach it by metro (line No.1), by the fast trains (called renfe) or by bus.
[martanikolova, 12/01/2012] This is one of the best metro systems I have witnessed and is probably the best way to travel around Madrid. This city is enormous with millions of inhabitants and because of this there are traffic jams everywhere (especially the central part). You can even witness a traffic jam late in the night. So, practically, if you want to reach some place quick - you should definitely use the metro. It covers the whole city, even the suburban areas. Some of the stations are connected also with the fast trains (called Renfe), which is another great advantage of the metro system. Inside there is a voice t

[martanikolova, 06/01/2012] This is one of the places I really liked about Madrid. Very easy to reach - all kinds of public transport goes there (we used the metro and got off at Atocha metro station, then walked to the gardens). We even saw one of that tourist guide buses outside the street, so you can even see this with one of those.
You can see in the gardens all kinds of flowers, plants and trees, but even if you are not so interested about the exact names or plant variety, you can just walk around and enjoy the beautiful nature and relax. The green colour can always calm me down and the whole atmosphere is very re

[martanikolova, 06/01/2012] This place shows exactly the spirit of Madrid. It is always full of tourists, full of people, full of noises and street artists. It is right in the center of Madrid, so it is impossible not to see this place. The transport connections are great - there is a metro station called the same way (Puerta del Sol). I have seen it also during Christmas time and it was so nicely decorated, it was absolutely amazing. The only thing I don't like about it during this time was the crowds - it took ages to get out of the metro station and on the streets the crowds were enormous, I haven't seen more people t

[martanikolova, 05/01/2012] This street is definitely a "must-see" spot for Madrid. The atmosphere is so special, you can actually feel some vibe in the air. Full of people, full of sounds, many interesting buildings, shops, cafes, hotels, you name it. Do not miss this street if you ever visit Madrid.

[TanaN, 20/09/2011] Arrived to Madrid for weekend break with my friends. We were group of 6 girls and 8 boys. So we were searching for the place, that can accommodate such a big group. We found La Posada De Huertas.
We got 2 rooms, both of them with only one window, which led to the gallery where other people from hostel were walking...so It was not really safe.
There were sleeping 10 girls in my room. It was impossible to get some fresh air into the room, because the air-conditioning was out of order and opened window is wasn't safe.
But this is the only trouble with the hostel. On the other hand, no body who

[pinpon85, 19/08/2011] Impresionante sitio!! El marisco y el pescado de medalla de honor, el steak tartar increible y los postres de bandera.
Si vais no dejéis de pedir el "Bacalao al chef" una de sus especialidades.
[elboqueronviajero, 29/07/2011] A while ago I discovered a restaurant that made me take notice, given that it was rather elegant and perfect for a celebration, but the prices were very reasonable. Since then it has become one of our favorites and we go there whenever possible.
La Finca de Susana is located near the Puerta del Sol and more exactly near the subway stop of Sevilla, on Arlabán street, which runs parallel to the Carrera de San Jerónimo. The restaurant is owned by a group of Filipinos who had a good idea and wound up opening different restaurants of a similar style but with different names in cities like Madrid

[neferettt, 21/04/2011] I stayed in this hotel last April. Super nice location, friendly people and clean. I will definitely be back!!!!!!!
[tomson2101, 13/01/2011] I enjoy this hotel, when I visit Madrid I try to settle in here. Although it's not easy to find, it's on a side road of a highway. But with the help of GPS or a taxi driver you will arrive safely. It kind of reminds me of the Titanic, a lot of wood on walls, a piano player at the entrance, a really enjoyable stay.
It's a little far from the city centre, and taxi does com out pretty expensive, but it's close to the airport and fair ground.
[petraquilitz, 26/07/2010] Clean, well run hostel in a very safe location. For the absolute base rate of 25 EUR you get a simple but clean room with visually acceptable bed sheets (no horrible dark patterns and furry old fabric), small flat screen TV, large window that can be opened to an internal courtyard. The street it is on is safe, clean and quiet.
On tripadvisor someone told a story about a bad experience with the landlady. I have stayed several weeks and can't confirm any bad encounters. On the contrary everyone was very nice, one of the girls running the front desk speaks English well (which is not easy to fin

[vasyaan, 15/06/2010] I would recommend this hotel to friends mainly because of its great location. It is close to the Royal palace, museums, shops, nice restaurants etc. Also it is very close to two metro stations which is a plus if you want to come to the hotel from the airport using the underground. Another thing which I really liked was the breakfast menu. There were quite a few choices for vegetarians which is not always the case in many hotels.
The thing I did not like about this hotels was the room. It was most definitely not one of a three stars hotel. I stayed there three nights and the room-maid did not

[vasyaan, 14/06/2010] The hotel was nothing special. The location however was fantastic - within walking distance of the royal palace, the opera house museums, shops etc. The breakfast was fantastic - wide choice of cheese, croissants, eggs, national tortiya and many more. The rooms were in my opinion not wordy of the three stars status of the hotel. I stayed there for three days and the room maid did not put soap in the room. There were also no shampoo or shower gel.
However mainly because of its convenient location I would recommended to a friend.
[Milen_I, 14/06/2010] I stayed a weekend in Hotel Rex an was a little bit disappointed. If it was not for the perfect location I was going to move out. The rooms are shabby and in need of renovation, there was no soap in my room and I sow a huge dead cockroach in the lobby. The staff do not speak English and sometimes is not easy to get what you want...
The breakfast was the only thing that was relatively good. A wide selection on the buffet, although some of the food was really low quality and I gave it a miss.
[auraobie, 03/06/2010] A beautiful, grand building set in flourishing, fertile gardens. From afar, this building really does portray the riches and grace of the Spanish Capital. The sun refelcts brightly from the white pillars as the building rises up in the distance. The building itself promotes a sense of great majesty, the proud (official) home of the Royals of Spain, representing a proud and successful history. There is nothing more pleasant than sitting enjoying a beverage in Plaza Oriente reading Don Quixote, looking up to gaze occasionally at this magnificent structure on a fine day in May. However, as you ge
