[sameh111, 24/05/2011] Of the most wonderful thing I saw in Luxore is a sound and light show that displays the view in the temple of Karnak, which tells the story of the museum and also the Pharaohs who built these effects .. First we booked tickets for it was very cheap after that I began to ride in the Temple of Luxor it was a round brilliant is the sound effects and also a wonderful photolithography. We walked on foot for a quarter of an hour after that we sat around a sacred lake to complete the rest of this amazing offer.Sound and light show present at night and displays in all languages by ear headphones

[MALU, 20/07/2010] When we were in Luxor in Upper Egypt 30 years ago, we crossed the Nile by ferryboat to get to the West bank (called Thebes by the ancient Greeks) from where a bus took us to the Valley of the Kings. This isn’t done any more, a bridge was built 7 km downstream 10 years ago and now it’s a bus ride all the way.
A bridge, what else is new? Luxor had 30 000 inhabitants when we were there in 1975, now it has 350 000. We passed some villages, saw children on their way to school (10 years are obligatory, nearly all children do go to school according to our Egyptian guide), in the canal taking water f

[Bahaa, 22/04/2010] I have been visiting Egypt for some 15 years and have stayed at just about every hotel in Luxor, but always come back to this particular hotel. Without a doubt the hotel holds the best location that a tourist could possibly want. It sits right on the banks of the Nile overlooking the West Bank and is ideally situated for all sightseeing sites. This hotel has an absolutely wonderful ambiance about it, it has staff that are always friendly, and will try to make your holiday as enjoyable as they possibly can, it is extremely clean, the food is very good, and the gardens are so relaxing especia

[sandy99, 20/04/2010] We have stayed here many, many times and have always had excellent clean rooms, excellent service and excellent food. Reception staff excellent from check in to check out. Any requirements are dealt with immediately. It's location is good for all Luxor attractions and historic sights (Valleys of Kings & Queens) on the West Bank and overlooks the Nile with terraced gardens and pool. Highly recommended.

[fluffy69, 31/07/2009] I will never forget studying Ancient Egypt in year 3 of school. I was an enthusiastic 7 year old with a passion fir history. I remember returning home begging my mum to buy some straw and let me dig up the garden so that I could make mud bricks like the Ancient Egyptians did. I loved learning about the gruesome mummification and the kings and queens. When I trained to be a teacher Egypt was the one topic I looked forward to teaching. It was only wise therefore that when we were planning our wedding and honeymoon we went somewhere as stunning as Egypt. I was very lucky that my now husband had a

[serendipity, 15/07/2009] We had a very enjoyable stay in luxor. The hotel is clean and comfortable and serves good food and plenty of it, with not a case of poorly stomach amongst us. The staff are friendly and helpful and all areas including the entrance toilets and pool toilets were kept consistently clean.
[Jan1000, 19/05/2009] I stayed at the Sofitel in January 2009 with my husband and friends and it was first class. We will be returning next year. The setting of the hotel - in its wonderful gardens - is especially beautiful beside the Nile and the free Boat trips to the City Centre are the best way to travel.
[friend, 02/05/2009] I have just returned fron this hotel. Two of my sons have been hospitalised with food poisoning. We only eat in the hotel and used bottled water for drinking and tea cleaning. The hotel was lovely and so were the staff. but to see two strong healthy young men unconcious and having 10 litres of fluid pumped into them by drip is a sad end to a wonderful holiday.
[hussein, 03/03/2009] I spent on 5 night at royal house hotel . it's wonderfull . very clean , nice staff , i liked swimming pool and luxor sun , l would stay here again .
[margerie, 03/02/2009] Got a deal from a travel agent friend and went for a week in Luxor at the new Hilton. Stayed in other Hiltons before and this was like a mix of cool looking interiors and Disney Egypt! Great to plug in your ipod in your room in the clock so no need to take your speakers. Disappointed the spa was shut but we still had a massage. You can also use the infinity pool which has bubbling seats in it! Usual Hilton food like burgers sandwhiches and pasta. Good breakfast and some local bits on the menu didnt eat at the chinese as not the cheapest. Didnt get sick though which is a first!
[martin99, 03/02/2009] From the moment we arrived nothing was to much trouble for the members of staff,
the hotel was very clean and modern looking the rooms were of a decent size.
We thought the cleaning staff were excellent, not only in their duties but also the curtious way they were towards us. The only thing that slightly let it down was the fact that there was very little entertainment of an evening, but if you want a quiete relaxing break then this is the place for you.
[HelenWestbury, 19/12/2008] We had a really lovely stay. Beautifully clean and attractive room (we were upgraded to deluxe which had a balcony looking onto the Nile with no other buildings obscuring the view which is unusual I think, because the hotel is right on the river). The pools are lovely with underwater sun loungers. Food was good, we loved the fresh hot oven bread to begin with and having such a huge choice. The staff were lovely too, really making an effort but not at all pushy, genuinely friendly and professional. Its a lovely quiet spot. Weve done a Nile cruise before but this had all of the benefits with muc

[derryguy, 25/08/2008] For many who vist Egypt they wish to embrace the culture, and for many this is done by visiting the Pyramids of Giza on the Giza Plateau in Cairo, however for those who have been bitten by the culture of Egypt a must see is the Valley of the Kings, although currently on 29 of the 61 tombs are open to the public, you will not be disappointed by what you see.
From the moment you step of your coach you will notice one thing just how hot it is in this part of Egypt and this counts for most of the year little or no rain has fallen here in 9 years tempratures can get up above 40 degrees at certain

[derryguy, 25/08/2008] The Temples of Karnak must be one of the most stunning monuments in the World for those who have never visited and are visiting Egypt in the next year or so this is a must, sadly if you are in sharm the only way of visiting this region would be to fly in but if you are in El Gouna Hurghada and Safarga, day trips by road are available although this can be a long day, it has in the past couple of months be reduced slightly by the relaxation of the convoy rules from Safarga to Luxor, in most cases your day will start about 5am (1 hour earlier if travelling from El Gouna)
from your hotel you will

[tazzywazzy, 01/10/2007] Firstly - sorry about the title, I was having trouble remembering her name and our guide told me to remember it as Hat, Cheap, Suit!
Getting There
We were booked onto a river cruise, and our boat was docked just outside Luxor Temple, that morning we were all woken up early for a 7am breakfast and then piled onto a coach. The trip from Luxor Temple (on the East Bank of the Nile), by coach to Deir El-Bahri & Egypt's famous West Bank takes about 20 mins, crossing the river by the only bridge in Luxor, aptly named Luxor Bridge. If anyone stays in Luxor, you will probably be staying on the Ea
