Mara House is more than just a place to sleep. Your total satisfaction is my goal! I want you to not only have a relaxing, comfortable stay at Mara House, I want you to experience the best of Luxor. My name is Mara, I'm Irish and my house is 10 mins. walk (0.5km.) from the back of the train station and 1km. from Luxor Temple. Once you cross under the train station you leave the hustle and hassle of the city centre tourist area behind you, and get to experience life in a family community where we have our own local baker, butcher, carpenters etc. The children play freely in the street and the adults sit chatting on their doorsteps while watching the world go by. Mara House is an Apt-Hotel, which means your accommodation is an apartment which also has a sitting room and bathroom. Your bedroom is always private and you can have a private or shared sitting room + bathroom depending on what you choose when booking. When you have settled in we will have a chat over a cup of tea or coffee, I will tell you what there is to see and do in Luxor. I will listen to what you have already in mind to do and offer you advice on anything or any ideas you have. I will do my best to see you get what you want in the way of sightseeing and experiencing life in Luxor. I can organise tours, guides, transport if you wish. If you don't I will tell you how to get them outside and you will come back at the end of the day happy, satisfied and feeling 'in control'! I take no 'commission' from taxis, guides, shops, markets, restaurants etc. that I will recommend. I offer these services but don't push them. This is your holiday and I want it to be perfect!The ground floor at Mara House has the Salahadeen Restaurant & Bar (fully licensed).Breakfast is included and served any time requested.Rooms are cleaned daily and we offer a laundry service European mattresses........ I have been told we have the best beds!No bugs, ants or mosquitos!Bed linen and towels included. No shortage of hot water.Free wired internet access in the lobby if you have laptop.Check-in anytime but your room may not be available until mid-day if the house is full.Check-out is 11am but you are welcome to use all facilities until you actually leave.
