[Colly_lou, 02/11/2011] Yuck!!! What a dump!! Take my advice...give this one a miss!! The staff didn't speak English so it was impossible to get any info on transport, sightseeing, etc! Our room was filthy! The sheets were dirty, smelly and full of holes...they were so bad we actually went and bought quilt covers and slept inside them so we didn't come into contact with their bedding!! We only stayed as it was the first stop on our 3 month round the world trip and we were watching our pennies! But NEVER AGAIN!!!!
[veny, 27/05/2011] This is a beautiful and peaceful place. There are great views of Los Angeles. Just amazing. I was fascinated ,i like it .
[Mikesh, 26/03/2011] The proximity to Universal Studios is a real plus, with the free shuttle for free transport. The staff very nice and friendly. One negative point was there was no eating places close by. The staff didn't know if any places were close by but did they best to find something online. Another thing about the location is that it is in a dingy lane which seemed a little dangerous for tourists and we were told not to walk around late in the evening by the hotel staff. AT night when we wanted to go out they called a cab as we were advised not to walk around though they said no incidents had happened b

[normarl, 19/01/2010] Our family Christmas is often spent traveling either here or the UK. Such was the case in 1986. As educators and self employed business owners, we could take up to two weeks for trips. REAL! We were going to Southern California via Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico and Arizona. The winter was indeed proving to be cold, snowy, icy and did I say cold, for we had noticed that the wooly worms had more hairs spikes than usual and the inside of of the chinquepin nuts was in the shape of a spoon, meaning shovel, denoting someone would be shovelling snow and lots of it. REEL- NOT!, for the weather c

[patofgold23, 04/12/2009] when my cousins told me we're going somewhere special, i didn't know it would be this special. The short tram ride was cool... but what unfold before me when we got to the place was just simply amazing!!! true art from the finest detail... the building is an art by itself... the photography exhibition was just amazing (i am not into photography but i had to see everything that's there...and I must say that was the first time i truly appreciated the art)... The paintings and sculptures are great... !!! It's like a haven if you want a quick place to get away from all the noise and stress... bre

[pala, 28/06/2009] Because it it relatively modern in its building it has been built to display art well
A few points
The building's and grounds / garden are exceptional.....they are works of art in themselves
the art is broad in that you tend to get (say) 1 Van Gogh etc but because it is broad you get the benefits of a broad exhibition.
Depending where you stay it can be a bit difficult to get to but Los Angeles has an excellent web site which tells you what combination of buses will get you there
[ProfMagellan, 15/01/2008] I would certainly return. This is a five star hotel at five star prices apparently, according to one staff member, owned by the Sultan of Brunei (he who owns the Dorchester). The rooms vary in quality and we were lucky to get one of the very nicest. I imagine that some of them can be quite noisy. Also, the pool area is quite small and I imagine can be quite crowded at peak times. In January (and during construction) it was empty. Great that the owner continues to invest in the fabric.
[David, 04/01/2008] The hotel is with very good location if you have to change plane in LA.
I stopped there back from my Las Vegas trip and had over night in LA waiting for my overseas flight.
It is close to the airport, but don't expect luxury. Just sleep and go.
[Ani, 30/12/2007] Security cheking
The thing which I couldnt understand at this airport is the security system.
When it is too busy they dont let all the luggage trough the checking machine but some they check by rubbing a piece of cloth on the suitcase and than check something. To be honest this a bit worried me and I was afraid this system is not enough secure.
Check-in and out
The check-in is much faster than the check-out where many planes all over the world arrive and the passport control is so incredibly slowly. As well the baggage line is such a mess. I was lucky to find my luggage. Once I fo

[David, 30/12/2007] The LAX or the Los Angeles airport is one of the busiest I have seen.
It is close to the ocean and the view from the airplane before landing is amazing.
Only once my plane passed over the city center and I think that time I flew by British airways.
Custom area
The airport is very busy and the visitors which are not citizens can really get mad seeing how all other pass by the custom for minutes and the tourists have to wait hours and hours in the extremely hot in the summer hall. Also the staff attitude, which keeps an eye on you as you are potential emigrant and doesn't let you go o
