The Roosevelt Hotel is Hollywood's only historic hotel still in operation today - having just celebrated its 75th anniversary with a $15 million renovation. The home of the very first Academy Awards (1929) was built as a glamorous gathering place and hotel for the screen colony, with investors including Douglas Fairbanks and Mary Pickford. Through the years, throngs of celebrities and people hoping to sight them have visited and resided at the hotel. UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE THE POOL AND FITNESS CENTER ARE UNDERGOING RENOVATION AND ARE NOT AVAILABLE.
Location. The renowned Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood, Calif., lies along the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and is across the street from Mann's Grauman's Chinese Theatre and the Hollywood Entertainment Museum. Griffith Park and Universal Studios Hollywood are within a two mile radius, and Dodger Stadium is five miles from the hotel. Prestigious Beverly Hills is located six miles away and Santa Monica beaches are 15 miles distant. Hotel Features. The ornate Spanish Colonial lobby houses a corner bar next to a European style restaurant. Dining and refreshment highlights include Dakota's that serves California and continental cuisine, 25 Degrees, a burger and wine venue, and the Tropicana that offers poolside service.
