Airport/ Train Station /HarbourLos Angeles International Airport

[David, 30.12.2007] The LAX or the Los Angeles airport is one of the busiest I have seen.
It is close to the ocean and the view from the airplane before landing is amazing.

Only once my plane passed over the city center and I think that time I flew by British airways.

Custom area

The airport is very busy and the visitors which are not citizens can really get mad seeing how all other pass by the custom for minutes and the tourists have to wait hours and hours in the extremely hot in the summer hall. Also the staff attitude, which keeps an eye on you as you are potential emigrant and doesn't let you go out of the queue can makes you want take the plane back immediately. After 12 hours flight all this come too much for the human nature. And it wasn't that the airport was that busy but only 2 officers were working and many counters were empty.
Finally on the second hour other 2 officers came so we could pass. We were the only who were staying ( Germans, Italians and me ) There were children and disabled people, but none cared about.

During that entire heavy atmosphere there is a big logo front of you lighting WELCOME IN LOS ANGELES.

The custom officers are very strict and I have seen how they send back whole families of Polish or Indian guys.

The baggage line

I found my luggage broken and opened. An officer guided me to a counter where my suitcase was repacked and I was given a new one.

Although I had drinks and food in my baggage (which is forbidden) they werent found, the only stupid thing here was that they asked me to put my baggage, although was so heavy, on a high enough moving checking line, and they are not willing to help any passenger. I had to help an old lady to can pick up her luggage there. How stupid conception.

The Shuttle buses

They are between the terminals and there is other surprise waiting here. Like everything here, this place is also made like for giants with muscles.
As I was the last to arrive and there wasn't place for my baggage down in the bus, the driver declared that she wont leave till I don't put my luggage on the place for it which was 1.5 meter high and my luggage was about 45 kilos.
And I was already late for my Vegas flight after 3 hours waiting on the passport line.
