[martanikolova, 17/01/2012] Wonderful, wonderful place. During my stay in London a few years ago, the hotel I stayed at was located very near to Hyde Park. This was the only reason I managed to see this place, since I was there for a business trip and didn't have much free time. I am happy to have seen this park. Even though it was in the autumn, I could still see the beauty of the park. It was very clean (which always draws my attention, because I can't say the same about the parks in Bulgaria) and really enormous. [magdadh, 29/11/2011] One of the larger Central London parks, at 350 acres, old and perhaps the most famous of London parks, mostly due to the "Speakers Corner" where on Sundays a variety of preachers, fanatics and mentally disturbed shout out their stuff. But apart form that, it's an OK park to visit, with a lot of open grassy space, used for picnicking at weekends, a lake called Serpentine with boating (and a swimming lido and paddling pool), cafes and numerous refreshment stalls; a bandstand and a Holocaust Memorial garden. We usually go there during sunny summer weekends with friends if we are in Central London. Getting there Underground There are 4 underground stations around the park. Hyde Park is here described as the "play park of Londoners" for they go there to practice many different sports (tennis, jogging, swimming, biking...). But, more than that, the author says Hyde Park is a "great relaxation and recreation park".
