Tate Modern is dedicated to exhibit the national collection of international modern art (works created after 1900). Opened in 2000, it was build at an old power plant on the south banks of the Thames. The complete collection of Tate Modern can be viewed on their website with detailed information and explanatory texts on each exhibit. Getting there: Ten minutes walk from Jubilee line (get off at Southwark) or District and Circle Line (Blackfriars). Busses 45, 63, 100 (Blackfriars Bridge Road), 381 (Southwark Street) and 344 (Southwark Bridge Road) Admission is free, donations are welcome Opening Hours: Sunday to Thursday 10.00-18.00 Friday and Saturday 10.00-22.00 Last admission 45 minutes prior to closing Closed 24, 25, 26, December Opening hours for temporary exhibitons may vary. |
