Must Do For Art Lovers!
[
TJT87
, 02/03/2011] The tade modern is one of the best gallery if you like art... It has very rich and exclusive collections of art. Even its appearance from the outside is astonishing... It is an old oil plant which has been converted to one of the most famous art gallery worldwide, but kept its original looking. Many of the Exhibitions are for free and just the temporary exhibitions you can enter with a ticket.

Something a little different.
[

, 01/06/2010] The Tate Modern is a great place for art lovers looking for something different. Its modern collection is quite different from what most of the other galleries have to offer, and there are often weird and wonderful exhibitions being held to capture the thriving imagination that one gains when in London. Held within an old power station, it is clear from the outside that Tate modern is different, far from the classicist design of Tate Britain, this gallery is held within quite an ugly, industrial shell of a building, however, this is part of its charm, afterall beauty within he post-modern era

Tate Modern -- Cathedral Of Cool
Older than 3 years
[
MALU
, 02/08/2005] Immediately after its opening Tate Modern became the most visited modern art gallery in the world beating its nearest rivals the Pompidou Centre in Paris and the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Once upon a time there was the Bankside Power Plant on Londons South Bank, a brick building of gargantuan dimensions, designed in 1947 and shut down in 1981. Then there was the Tate Gallery on Millbank with more artefacts in the storerooms than in the exhibition halls. The two came together when it was decided to use the Tate Gallery only for British art and call it Tate Britain forthwith and to ex

Tate Modern
Date published: Aug 2006
Author: Darwin Porter
Article
The author talks about the Tate Modern and describes it as being "a transformed Bankside Power Station." This museum attracts "some 2 million visitors a year." Inside the building there is "the greatest collection of international 20th-century art in Britain." The author advises that the Tate Modern is "viewer-friendly, with eye-level hangings" and that all "the big painting stars are here." Darwin Porter writes that the Tate Modern also has a "gallery of 21st-century art" for people to observe. He talks about viewing the Tate Modern and states that you "can cross the Millennium Bridge"

User review
The reviewer writes that he has been to the Tate on "many occasions", and notes that parking near by will be "very difficult". He then goes onto discuss the three floors of exhibitions, noting that there is separate exhibition which you need to pay for (he paid less than £10), but does also mention that "each floor is packed with free exhibits". The reviewer then goes on to talk about the other people visiting the Tate, saying that they all seem to be "students" or "Sunday Times & Guardian reading art types". The reviewer does reccomend the Tate, as it is free, but does not provide an "a

Travel guide extract
The author describes this "former power station" as "Europe's most successful contemporary art gallery". She goes on to add that the gallery is "one of the South Bank's most exciting attractions". Admission is free and the exhibitions are organized according to the artistic movements of the 20th century such as "cubism, futurism, vorticism, surrealism and minimalism". These are "permanent" collections that accompany the "enticing" temporary exhibitions. The "vast Turbine Hall" is "as dramatic as it's always been" and is described as the "highlight of any visit". The author recommends the "free
