The author writes that this "genteel" hotel is located in between the museums in South Kensington and the shopping facilities in Knightsbrigde and is therefore "good for culture" and for shopping. The hotel is located in a "large, red brick, bay-windowed building" which sports a "21 / 2 acre garden". Its interior decoration includes "antiques, oil paintings, ornaments, heavy curtains" and open fire-places which reminds the author of "a luxurious private house".
