Article
[Newfloridian, 07.10.2006] According to the author, the Dorchester, situated in Mayfair, broke with tradition when it was built in 1931 from "reinforced concrete clothed in terrazzo slabs". This is "one of London's best hotels", which has maintained its "fine comfort and cuisine" throughout the years without any sense of "snobbery". Inside, "monumental flower arrangements" and the "elegant promenade" keep all guests "in comfort and at ease". Guestrooms have "comfortable" beds, "all the electronic gadgetry you'd expect" and sound-deadening glazing. The marble bathrooms are "equally stylish". As well as three restaurants and 24 hour room service, The Dorchester offers many facilties including a health club, shopping arcade and business centre. Frommers rates the hotel as "exceptional" and "very expensive" ($$$$)
