The Sanctuary House lies adjacent to Westminster Abbey and was converted to a hotel by one of the traditional London breweries. In a short review the author had a "rustic feeling" about the guestrooms, placed as they are on the "upper floors above the tavern". However, he found the beds were "first-rate", the "restored" bathrooms had "tub and shower combinations" and had the expected in-room amenities. He found the "traditional" menus in the downstairs pub / restaurant "excellent". He was told by a "perky staff member" that "some people are nostalgic for the old".
