The Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park in London has a rating of 90.85 points on the 2006 Gold List of the UK Edition of Conde Nast Traveller. The author started with a statement: "Splendid frescoed ceilings and marble floors at one of the best addresses in London". He than pointed out, Harvey Nichols is across the road, Harrods a "stone's throw away" and many of the major museums are "nearby".
The 200 rooms are furnished with "antiques and silks" and the service is "smart" with a guest manager on every floor. The spa is an "award winning spa" and "wonderful". The hotel has two restaurants "the Michelin-starred 'Foliage' " is the one and the "less formal" 'The Park' the other one.
The hotel offers also "great" event rooms and a "busy" bar.
