Arrowtown, an historic gold mining town since 1862, in the Heart of the Southern Lakes, of the South Island of New Zealand is the closest settlement to the country's oldest ski area. Autumn colours of beautiful old trees appear on calendars and post cards sent all over the world, it's famous; like nearby Coronet Peak ski area. Dreamworld Parkway, great day out (04.10.2005 16:11)
DREAMWORLD (A little north of Surfers Paradise) The home of screaming mad rides; The Claw, Tower of Terror, Giant Drop, Cyclone and Wipe out - get the picture; all spine chilling, heart pumping stuff. 'Death defying' they say, I think they are right!'' I had always managed to avoid such 'pleasures' on previous visits to Dreamworld, until my last visit. Prompted by my 6-year old grand [more...] -

Notre Dame, Our Lady , majestic in Paris (01.10.2005 22:59)
Notre Dame Cathedral is a Parisian Catholic church which welcomes ''global'' parishioners each day for worship, as well as travellers who come to appreciate over 700 years of divinity and architecture. I've been past it on several visits but this year fate called me on a historic day, one remembered in sadness: the day the Pope died. My sister and I walked around this massive, beautiful [more...] -

Great Wall - Badaling, China - October, 2000
Great Wall of China, awe-inspiring, grandeur (28.09.2005 22:46)
Apparently you can see the Great Wall of China from outer space but it's much better to view it from right under your own two feet. I have only had one spiritual experience in my life and it was the day I set foot on the Great Wall of China. Just a little piece of its 6700 km (4163 miles), but it was enough to draw tears to my eyes. It touched my emotions in a way I cannot possibility write [more...] -
Milan Cathedral - Milan, Italy - July, 2005
Milans Duomo, stunning cathedral architecture (25.09.2005 22:02)
When you walk up from the underground the amazing white architecture of Milan's Duomo (cathedral) dominates the vision, and what a magnificent building it is. I'd been told it looked like a wedding cake, but my first impression was that it looked like a mountain and there at the top, on a 108m high spire is the 3900 pieces of gold-leaf Madonnina statue, looking out over the city since 1774 [more...] -

Visiting a zoo is an exciting time for animal lovers and Wellington's zoo is no exception, it conforms ideally to the need for animals to be safe, secure and well placed in as near to a natural environment as possible. Kiaora... to Te Papa Tongarewa, Museum of New Zealand - Our Place. New Zealand's national museum is a modern setting for treasures and stories of the past. An eye on how the country and its people have evolved through centuries, sea-bound in the South Pacific Ocean. I've been to Te Papa, as it is more usually called, several times and every time I go there I see something different. This is [more...] -
