[more]Ty'n y Wern, (House in the Meadow), is just outside the picturesque market town of Llangollen, set in some of the most beautiful and spectacular scenery in North Wales, and is ideally situated as a touring base for North and Mid Wales, including the Borderlands, with many attractions within easy travelling distance. Leisure centres and golf clubs at Llangollen, Chirk, Wrexham and Oswestry (We are 1 / 2 a mile from the Vale of Llangollen golf course); Watersports at the renowned Llyn Tegid (Bala Lake); Chirk Marina on the Llangollen Canal; Superb shopping at Chester, including Cheshire Oaks; Cadfaels' Shrewsbury; Breathtaking scenery in the Snowdonia National Park; or spoilt for choice at the Abakhan Craft and Fabric Centre.
Llangollen is 1 / 2 a mile distant with a variety of restaurants and a wealth of attractions and activities, including the world famous annual International Eisteddfod, Llangollen Steam Railway and both horse drawn and motorised canal trips. Pontcysyllte aqueduct, recently granted World Heritage status, is just 4 miles away. The surrounding hills provide superb walking or cycling routes, especially the facilities at Coed Llandegla which is just twenty minutes away, and Coed y Brenin which is 1 hour away.
Ty'n y Wern is set in its own grounds of extensive lawned areas with well tended flower beds and trees, and has ample car parking space, providing the ideal setting for you, whether you wish to just relax and enjoy the surroundings, or have a more energetic sight-seeing break in the splendour of North Wales.
We have two double bedrooms and two single bedrooms, all of which are tastefully decorated and equipped to the same high standard, having fully en-suite bathrooms with bath and / or shower. All have remote control flat screen colour television with free-view channels including radio and tele-text, clock / alarm radio with CD player and tea / coffee making facilities.
All rooms have individually controlled central heating radiators. In October 2004, the standards were further enhanced with the introduction of top quality Egyptian Cotton bed linen and luxury towels. All the rooms are on the first floor accessed by one flight of stairs. Ironing facilities are available. Room descriptions and facilities may be viewed from our 'Availability and Book' page. Please note that although we now operate as a guest house and no longer offer restaurant or bar facilities, there is a good choice of restaurants and inns within walking distance.
