Recommended for families with children, "romantic couples" and businessmen it has played host to "the world's leaders". On first sight the author found the hotel to be "startlingly attractive". The "huge" bedrooms with "enormous" beds and "large, proper" baths are "quiet and well insulated" but she was disappointed that "some of the character" had been lost during recent modernisation. The hotel features two restaurants, one being "one of the best" in the city. With its mixture of Austrian, Italian and Hungarian influences the food, while being "ridiculously cheap" was superb. The hotel features a swimming pool and sauna. She noted that the sights of the old city are a "relatively short hike" away.
