[Jode, 03/05/2011] A stay at the Malmaison is definitely for the young and fun! From the moment you walk into the hotel your breath is taken away by the decor and although appears very dark is very well presented and has an immediate Liverpool glamour to it. The room was a perfect size, small but very well equiped and the decor again was spot on! The bathroom was to die for with a gorgeous big bath tub and great shower, Tony and Guy hairdrier and all mod cons! Breakfast was included and was very good for small or big appitites. "Purpose-built" and very new, the hotel targets "hip, young clients" but still provides a warm welcome to the over 40s and very young. The exterior is "Manhattan-esque" and the lobby continues this theme with "high-backed chairs" and "double height ceilings". The décor everywhere is in shades of aubergine, lavender and mauve, with added black in the bedroom. The plush "love seats" in the Plum Lounge, and scatter cushions in the bedroom, add to the feel of opulence. The "elegant" Malmaison hotel in Liverpool is well located near the city centre and is "five minutes walk from the iconic Liver Building and 10 from Albert Dock". The interior colour scheme of the hotel as well as that of the rooms is mostly done in "plum-purple and black" and evokes a "warm and expensive" feeling.
