This is a "large" "luxury hotel" located in the city center and offering the "usual Sofitel comforts" for "business as well as leisure travellers". The staff is "friendly" and "attentive". The design in the lobby gives a "distinctly Asian feel" but also "carfeully placed" Portuguese Antiques remind you of the city that the hotel is located in. Since the remodelling in 2004 all rooms have "state-of-the-art beds", which are "truly devine". "Just around the corner" of the hotel are shops, restaurants, theaters and bars.

Frommers rates this hotel as a "deluxe hotel" being in a prime location of Lisbon. The hotel "features touches of intimacy" with its modern hi-tec design. The rooms are "comfortable" and "good-sized" with each floor providing another colour scheme. The hotel offers special business rooms with "extra luxuries". Fodors recommends to book a room to the front side of the hotel. The rooms are quiet thanks to soundproofing, the bathrooms "well kept".
