The Abbey House Museum is located within the former gate house to Kirstall Abbey. Exhibits include a recreation of a typical Victorian street together with more than 60,000 individual items that provide a social history of the area. There is also a collection of toys, games, costumes and dresses. In addition to the permanent displays that are held at the museum there are also several temporary exhibitions throughout the year. Admission charges are: Adults - £3.50 (4.75 Euros) Concessions - £2.50 (3.75 Euros) Children (aged 5-16) - £1.50 (2.75 Euros) Family Ticket - £5.00 (7.5 Euros) A family ticket allows admission for 2 adults and up to 3 children. The museum is open at the following times: Tuesday to Friday - from 10am until 5pm Saturday - from 12 noon until 5pm Sundays and bank Holiday Mondays - from 10am until 5pm It is closed on Mondays (except bank Holidays). The facility is fully accessible for disabled visitors. |
