The hotel is in a converted 18th century warehouse and right next to the River Aire.
The location is convenient for the city centre and shops and bars and restaurants. The hotel is a great mix of modern and old, and it all works beautifully.
Friendly and efficient staff, 24 hour room service, good food make this a hotel I would recommend and one where I ant to revisit.

When we returned to the hotel we were taken to our room which was easily accessed via a modern looking lift integrated beautifully with the brickwork. Because there are only 41 rooms, it wasn’t a long walk, and the hotel certainly isn’t large although it does give the impression of spaciousness and no room seems to be especially close to any other room, so there is a real air of privacy.
Our room had a large entrance area with the bathroom to the side and a cupboard containing the kettle, with speciality teas and coffees. The bedroom itself was large with two windows facing the road (if your room faces the river you get a fishing rod to try your luck). We had a large double bed with clean and comfortable pillows and cushions, a dressing table, small table, and chairs. There is plenty of hanging space in the entrance area and throughout the room there was no feeling at all of being cramped. The tv was easy to use and wifi is available.
The bathroom was all white and black tiles and chrome with an old fashioned style bath. The problems I had with the bath was that the taps were on the side so it was quite uncomfortable and also all of the shampoos and bath oils were attached to the wall so it was tricky to get the bubble bath under the running water. However, the nail set, frog shaped soaps and fluffy dressing gowns made up for this!
The whole feeling in the bedroom and bathroom was one of comfort and style with a sense of being spoilt.

The fact that it was once a warehouse is immediately noticeable when we enter the hotel, since there are still lots of steel beams and exposed brick walls, although these have been stylishly integrated. The entrance features a large fire, and comfy chairs, and the reception desk itself is totally in keeping with the general feel- no large modern desk here but rather a small metal desk with no obvious evidence of modern day technology. We quickly checked in and left our bags as we couldn’t get into the rooms till 4pm.

The breakfast wasn’t included in the £99 cost of the room for the night so we opted to have breakfast. Breakfasts are served downstairs in a light and airy room. We were quickly seated and brought the menu which included a full English breakfast with a choice of different sausages, or a Continental breakfast. We both chose the full English breakfast and had the choice of a breakfast buffet which included muffins, different breads, jams, cereals and seeds such as pumpkin seeds. Everything was beautifully presented with the seeds and cereals being presented in sacks and packets, and there being a good selection of different fruits. After the buffet we were brought our cooked breakfast with two sausages of choice, black pudding, egg, bacon and mushrooms.
All of the tables are dotted around the room with plenty of space between the tables. The whole room was a mix of modern and 18th century architecture and with the full length windows looking out at the river, it was a great place for breakfast. The price was I thin £15 each so it wasn’t the cheapest but the food was fabulous, and there was no rush to get out, so we could really fill up!!

The hotel is very close to the centre although in a really quiet area right next to the river, so we parked the car in a parking bay next to the hotel and went to check in. It’s worth noting here that the parking bays are free after 6pm and free all day on a Sunday so although the hotel does get reduced rates for the nearby car parks, if you are there on a Saturday night, it’s worth making use of the parking bays.
