| Description: |
Leeds Town Hall dates from 1858 and was built to a design by the architect Cuthbert Brodick. It is a Grade 1 listed building which stands 69 metres high and was the tallest building in the city until 1966. The Town Hall is currently home to the Leeds International Concert Season and, following a recent £4 million refurbishment programme, it features modern, state of the art conference facilities. During its lifetime it has also housed the city's courts and has been occupied by Leeds City Council. Public tours of the Town Hall, during which members of the public can view usually inaccessible areas of the building, take place on Heritage Days. |
