HotelCatalonia Punta del Rey

[trivago traveller, 29.03.2007] Worse holiday ever from 19/03/07 to 28/03/07. Not exaggerating. Wanted reasonably relaxing holiday! We were placed under noisy lift/air conditioning mechanism even though we had requested a quite room. Impossible to sleep even after a few drinks! Asked to move and finally a couple of days later we were put on a floor full of extremely Noisy unsupervised Spanish school children as punishment! Walls paper thin. Could hardly escape them (noisy kids) anywhere in the hotel including poolside or dinner as three bus loads had arrived. They laughed, slammed doors, shouted and screamed until sunrise. They even had races up and down the corridors. Be warned it's a regular occurance we were told from Spanish friend. No escape from them even in the Niteclub. Complained to kids, staff and management. Nothing done. Security man just hid. We were told manager was busy and would contact us later. He never bothered himself. We were fobbed off by staff after many attempts and eventually resigned ourselves to our faith. View of nearby powerplant with fumes very nice! Can't mention what was floating in the pool. Bed sheets were not changed once in nine nights either. Disgusting! We have stayed in many places throughout the world and are actually really easy going people. Catalonia Punta Del Rey and it's staff is a dump that does not deserve one star. People in the local town were generally really nice and friendly.
