Description:	Lanark Lanimers is a very old Lanark tradition started in 1140 when King David I declared Lanark to be a Royal Burgh and instructed the townsfolk to inspect their boundaries annually. A Lanimer Queen, Court, and Lord Cornet are elected and as part of the festivities a ball is held. There are also a number of processions and other entertainment. Lanimer Week falls between June 6th and June the 12th each year. The Lanimer processions are on the Thursday and therefore Lanark Lanimer Day, 2007 would be on Thursday June 7th.
