Lanark Museum is a small museum in Lanark. It provides information on the history of the town and has many old artifacts. They change the displays regularly to give visitors the best range of information avaliable. During May and June the museum holds a special exebit all to do with the local holiday, Lanark Lanimers.
Unfortunately, due to the size of the current building not a lot can be displayed but it is still enough to give you an idea of what life was like in Lanark years ago. The museum caretakers have beenthinking of moving to a larger building that is owned by the museum, however the survey of the building will cost over £30,000 alone and so it wouldn't be practical to move to it.
There is a shop in the museum which sells pens, pencils, old coins, bookmarks and loads more. The prices are quite reasonable but some things are a little expensive. I don't mind paying a little extra, though, considering you don't have to pay to enter!
Overall I think that the museum is one of the best attractions in lanark!
