Amusement parkDisney's Hollywood Studios

[elspeth334, 09.01.2008] MGM Studios is the smallest of the Disney Parks but still has a lot to offer whetheryou are a movie buff or just looking for a fun day out. A day trip can cost in the regionof £35 but you do get a lot for your money but a hopper pass which gives you accessto all the Disney parks is by far the best value. At the entrance to the park you can pick up maps wheelchairs buggies or hire a locker for the day.
There are many great things to see and do including

Star Tours this is a thrill packed ride which sends you zooming through hyperspace and battling imperial starfighters so you can relive the Star Wars Adventure or if you are a total wimp like me sit with your eyes shut and pray your spacecraft docks safely.This is a continuous ride that lasts about 10 minutes

The Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular is a 30 minute show involving lots of shooting explosions and dare devil stunts. It was well worth queuing for dont be put of by thequeue 100s get in at a time.
The Backlot Tour is a continuous tour lasting 25 minutes in which you survive catastrophe canyon another stunt which involves explosions fire and lots of water.At the end of the ride is a display of props and cars used in movies.

The Magic of Disney Animation this a walking tour lasting about 35 minutes it is the actual drawing of the cartoons for films. They were making Mulan when we were thereand it was really fascinating watching the artists at work.
Time for a pit stop there are plenty of restaurants to choose from and all Hollywood themed.The Sci-Fi Dine- in Theatre restaurant is laid out to recreate the set of a drivein movie with everybody sitting in cars. This was a big favourite with my children.

Jim Hensons Muppet Vision 4D is a 25 minute show well worth a look and you can also enjoy a seat in the lovely air-conditioning. We were there in July and it was very,very hot.
There is a new rollercoaster since we were there called the Rockn Roller where youare strapped into a stretch limo for a high speed coaster ride.

There are several other shows Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid,The MonsterSound Show as well as lots of other attractions to keep smaller children amused.
As I was walking down Sunset Boulevard I heard a voice say Hello Gorgeous asthere was nobody else about and I am no oil painting I ignored it and walked on. Again the voice came and it wasnt till I saw my family laughing I realised it was a litter bin that had been trailing me and making remarks all the way down the street. I feltwheelie stupid.

At the end of Sunset Boulevard looms the ominous haunted Hollywood Hotel which houses the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. This ride takes you on a terrifying elevatorride you will NEVER forget, plunging 13 storeys faster than the speed of gravity TWICE. As I said before I am a wimp and this ride reduced me to tears I have never been so scared in my life.
There are also parades throughout the day and a Spectacular firework display at night.
This is really a great day out and I highly recommend it
