Der Autor schreibt mit Begeisterung von dieser schottischen Sehenswürdigkeit. Wenn man in den Highlands unterwegs ist, ist Eilean Donan unbedingt zu besuchen ("not to be missed"). Der Eintrittspreis ist mit GBP 3.95 für Erwachsene nicht teuer ("not excessive"). Auf die historische Bedeutung geht er nicht so sehr ein, wie auf die filmische Bedeutung (Highlander). Eine der Hauptstrassen der Highlands führt direkt am Schloss vorbei. ("the A87 main road to Skye runs 30 yards from the end of the bridge to the castle").
