[08/07/2007] This is a personal account of the Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur . The author states that the Towers were "once classified as the worlds tallest structure" and were "designed by a Norwegian, Dawid Muano". The towers consist of 88 floors, which "are mostly constructed of re-enforced concrete with a stainless steel and glass front ".
The author gives details on obtaining tickets and states that "200 plus people were queuing to obtain tickets" by 08.30am. Visitors are advised to "get there early" on the day as "they only allow 1400 ticket sales in any one day".
Once at the Towers you are requested, similar to any airport, to "scan your bags and to pass through a scanner". From the Sky Bridge "you can view for miles around" and have plenty of time to enjoy the "amazing views of the water fountains in the gardens below".
Facilities include a giftshop, which has "the usual merchandise of paperweights, fridge magnets and pen holders" and inside the towers on the ground level you will find "5 floors of shopping outlets such as Armani and Gucci".
The article concludes with the author stating that the Towers are "really a great day out " and that he thought it "was certainly worth sacrificing a lay in to get the tickets". The author states that "the fact it costs absolutely nothing is a great bonus" and he would "definitely recommend a visit to this tourist attraction".
